Operation 36 Announces Strategic Partnership with Birdie Basics
Garner, NC—North Carolina-based golf player development program, Operation 36, announces an exciting partnership with Kate Tempesta’s Birdie Basics as the preferred partner for 3-6 year old programming. The partnership reflects a common goal of providing the best possible long-term junior development environments at golf facilities that can be activated right away.
“Junior golfers ages 3-6 need proper golf learning environments. You can’t teach an 8 year old the same way you teach a 5 year old. Kate’s story-driven golf programming is so engaging, and provides the perfect environment for young children. It is the solution to get children to fall in love with the sport earlier. It gives them a jump-start in their development and a deep passion for the game before they start in an Operation 36 Program.” Operation 36 Co-Founder, Matt Reagan said.
Tempesta has taught thousands of young children in New York City and Long Island over the years through her Urban Golf Academy. She is an early childhood educator who approaches golf instruction through the lens of the whole child with the help of the loveable character Birdie.
On this unique approach to teaching golf, Tempesta said, “There are teachable moments outside of golf, like listening, gross motor, skills that help the parallel motion of the golf swing, being part of a group, separating from mom and dad…
These are the glue to the learning environment. You can’t possibly get to golf unless that whole child environment is really created.”
“If I can give children this amazing early childhood experience that happens to be through golf, I know they are going to be more apt to take on risks, have better relationships, and now with Operation 36, I know there is a pipeline. It’s still going to be nourishing. It will still be gamified, and it will be very developmentally appropriate. This is a developmental pathway from tots to tour players.”
Kate Tempesta said she wanted to work with Operation 36 because, “There is total synergy between our two companies. I am a huge believer in synergistic relationships. We move forward together. We move the needle together.”
Operation 36 coaches also receive $100 off the Birdie Basics Membership. For more information, go to: www.operation36.golf.
