Garner, NC–Golf player development program, Operation 36, welcomes River Hills Country Club of Lake Wylie, SCas a new licensed program location.
The Operation 36 program will be guided by Bobby Stroup, PGA. The team will be developing coaching programs specifically for Ladies, Men and Juniors
Currently, Stroup is completing the Operation 36 certification and will launch his Spring Academy in March.
Stroup said, “I still remember the first time I played golf. From not knowing even how to check in at the pro shop, or how to hold the club. Then I step up to the tee box some 350+ yards from the hole, and I’m told to get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. One hundred and nineteen shots (or so), and more than 4 hours later, my day was finally over. It’s a wonder that people like me ever come back.”
He continues, “Operation 36 teaches you how to get the ball in the hole, in 36 or fewer shots from the yardage that is most challenging to you. Everyone starts at 25 yards, and if that doesn’t challenge you, then you won’t need more than one try. Eventually, you will find the yardage that does challenge you, and that is where you will grow and develop as a golfer, as well as learn about yourself and how you handle that challenge. I can’t think of a better way to learn this game than by using the Operation 36 program. I wish it had been available when I was learning how to play.”
Operation 36 is providing golf professionals with a complete developmental program to serve this growing market of beginners. With an on-course development model, curriculum and gamified progress tracking, golfers are able to enjoy becoming a skilled golfer.

About Operation 36
Operation 36 is the most effective developmental program to teach beginners how to play golf. All new players begin on the course, and instead of starting at the tee box, they play from 25 yards away from the hole. Once the player shoots par (36) from 25 yards, they back up to 50 yards, and so on, until they are shooting even par (36) from the full tee box. Participants engage in weekly classes taught by golf professionals and all progress of the golfers is tracked in the Operation 36 Platform.
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers and retaining them for the long term.
