Operation 36 Golfers Take 1 Million Strokes Off Their Scores

September 15, 2026

Wayne, PA. –  Operation 36 by Golf Genius, the leading developmental golf program designed exclusively for beginner golfers of all ages, announced today that golfers engaged in the program have improved their collective scores by more than 1 million strokes. This milestone reflects verified scoring improvement at every Operation 36 program in more than 825 locations and 22 countries.

Every stroke saved  is determined by analyzing scores using  the Operation 36 app. Players progress  through the program’s levels, with each level set up from a longer yardage. The  goal is to score  36 or better over nine holes. The player’s first score at a particular level determines their baseline. The gap between that initial score and their best round represents their scoring improvement at that level.

Because each score is sourced   from analysis of rounds rather than self-reported progress, coaches have an accurate history of player development that ties directly to lesson programming, class enrollment, and long-term retention.

Ryan Dailey, the co-founder of Operation 36 commented, “A million strokes isn’t just a number, it’s a million small proofs — a million moments when a beginner chooses to keep going. It’s  extremely rewarding for a coach  to stick with a player through their early challenges, their first scorecard, their first taste of getting better. That’s what our coaches do. They don’t just teach golf, they build believers, golfers who look at a scorecard and sense progress instead of frustration. This milestone is proof that our  model works, for real people, in real rounds.”

Matt Reagan, Operation 36 Co-founder added, “We are proud of the Operation 36 coaches and golfers. Together, they achieved this remarkable milestone.  Most beginners quit golf before they ever get skilled enough to enjoy it. Our mission is  to create enthusiastic, engaged golfers, and ,a million strokes is a million moments when these players realized they were in fact getting better. Improving  builds  momentum, and, most importantly, they feel confident that they are becoming competent golfers. That belief is what keeps someone bound to the game for life, and we are proud that our network of coaches is creating new lifetime golfers one player at a time.”

The 1 million stroke milestone is drawn from actual round data tracked in the Operation 36 app. It takes a baseline score from their Level and subtracts it from their record low score.  This is combined for every Op 36 level to show how much a player has improved throughout their journey.  Every stroke counted comes from a scored Operation 36 round, giving coaches and facilities a measurable record of player development that connects directly to lesson programming, class enrollment, and long term player retention.
