Garner, NC—North Carolina-based golf player development program, Operation 36, announces a new partnership with Thor The Coach. The company is led by Thor Parrish, PGA, who has created a free partner course within the Operation 36 Coach Academy titled, “Play For Life – How to Incorporate Fitness Into Your Junior Programs.”
Thor Parrish specializes in integrating fitness, and functional movement, into golf instruction for maximum effect. He currently has a golf program based in Naples, FL, and also provides online programming for non-local golfers.
This free course is designed to help Golf Professionals integrate fitness exercises into their existing juniors programs. The course shows Golf Professionals how to implement “Golf fitness for kids” right on the lesson tee. The training also includes three golf fitness games that are great for rainy days when you can’t get out on the course.
Thor Parrish said,“Operation 36 has created one of the best opportunities for Golf Professionals to run a successful, profitable, and meaningful program at their facility. Their program understands the importance of health and fitness, and the role it plays in junior development. The ability to partner with them and help other professionals continue to grow and give them the resources to implement even better golf fitness programs will in turn grow the game and help a massive amount of juniors Play For Life. ”
Operation 36 Co-founder, Ryan Dailey said, “As coaches, we are well aware of the long term mental and physical advantages of incorporating Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles in golf programming. At its most basic level, it is doing the right thing at the right time for the athlete. A simple example of this would be encouraging multi-sport participation versus specializing solely on golf at an early age. The Titleist Performance Institute has done a great job of educating golf coaches over the years and more recently the PGA of America released a similar initiative in the American Development Model (ADM). These are not programs, rather LTAD and ADM are guiding principles for coaches to follow along the developmental path of a player. At Operation 36 Golf, we are in full support of coaches delivering golf programming that includes both LTAD and ADM principles. This includes incorporating appropriate fitness activities at the right time in their youth programs. With that in mind, our partnership with Thor Fitness includes an educational course on how best to deliver fitness activities within Operation 36 and junior programming. Operation 36 coaches can be educated and add appropriate fitness activities directly to their lesson plans within the Op36 web app. Thor has dedicated his career to helping students experience the benefits of prioritizing fitness in their lives both on and off the course. We are excited to partner with him and know that this will help coaches around the world deliver better programming to their athletes.”
Recently, Operation 36 launched a Free Online Coach Academy for professionals who are interested in Developmental Golf Programming. All golf professionals are welcome to create a free account to access coach training.

About Operation 36
Operation 36 is the most effective developmental program to teach beginners how to play golf. All new players begin on the course, and instead of starting at the tee box, they play from 25 yards away from the hole. Once the player shoots par (36) from 25 yards, they back up to 50 yards, and so on, until they are shooting even par
(36) from the full tee box. Participants engage in weekly classes taught by golf professionals and all progress of the golfers is tracked in the Operation 36 Platform.
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers and retaining them for the long term.
