Raleigh, NC—North Carolina-based golf player development program, Operation 36, announces their next Educational Roundtable workshop for Golf Professionals who are interested in growing and improving their Beginner Golf Programs.
This workshop “Transforming Beginner Golf” will feature special guest Jill Finlan Scally, LPGA who co-owns Scally Golf Academy in Moon, PA.
Scally is highly skilled at working with beginner golfers, as she has created over 240 new golfers through her program. Her thriving golf academy in Moon has over 400 active golfers. Scally will be sharing the specific strategies and techniques that she uses to encourage beginners so that they become lifelong golfers.
She said, “I teach students of all ages and skill levels. I stress the fundamentals, first and foremost. I help my students set realistic expectations from the beginning, and I remind them to keep their expectations realistic. I believe good communication is essential to being a good coach. If students don’t understand what they are supposed to be doing, they won’t be able to do it. I am a coach, an instructor, a cheerleader and sometimes even a counselor to my students.”
The workshop will be hosted online, on Monday, April 18th at 12:00 p.m. EDT. It is designed to provide strategies that will be useful to all golf professionals, even those who are not currently in an Operation 36 program location.
About Operation 36
Operation 36 is a Division of Golf Genius and is the most effective developmental program to teach beginners how to play golf. All new players begin on the course, and instead of starting at the tee box, they play from 25 yards away from the hole. Once the player shoots par (36) from 25 yards, they back up to 50 yards, and so on, until they are shooting even par (36) from the full tee box. Participants engage in weekly classes taught by golf professionals and all progress of the golfers is tracked in the Operation 36 Platform. The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers and retaining them for the long term.
