Garner, NC—North Carolina-based golf player development program, Operation 36, announces a new Free Partner Course, as well as a Pilot Program for all of their locations, with Birdie Basics, led by Kate Tempesta.
Birdie Basics, which specializes in a story-based golf instruction for children ages 3-6, has created a free partner course within the Operation 36 Coach Academy titled, “How to Run a Successful Golf Program for Children Ages 3-6” Powered by Birdie Basics.
Operation 36 Co-Founder, Matt Reagan said, “Operation 36 has always been focused on Ages 7 and up. There is a massive shortage of programming that is vetted for younger children. The truth is that three to six year old children need to be taught much differently than ages 7 and up.”
Reagan continued, “Kate Tempesta has dedicated her education and career to studying how you apply early childhood education to golf. With her background and experience she knows the formula to “SPARK” an interest and love for the game in an exciting way. Ryan, myself and the entire Operation 36 Network could not be more thankful for Kate working with us to start pilot Future 36er Programs powered by Birdie Basics. It makes us happy to know that we have a partner that truly cares in helping Operation 36 Program locations with arguably the most important age group in the future of golf!”
Tempesta has taught thousands of young children in New York City and Long Island over the years through her Urban Golf Academy. She is an early childhood educator who approaches golf instruction through the lens of the whole child with the help of the lovable character Birdie.
Kate Tempesta said, “I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Matt and Ryan on their journey to empower more coaches and invite more people into the game of golf. I am grateful for all they have done to provide facilities across the world the tools and the framework to get more and more individuals confidently playing golf. I’m honored that they embrace and believe in the Birdie Basics philosophy. Together, Operation 36 and Birdie Basics will bring more young children into the greatest game in the world, promote optimal learning and development and create more joyful and engaged PLAYers. We can empower more children, and golf will be better with this partnership. Birdie is super proud to be a part of the Operation 36 ‘nest.’”
Recently, Operation 36 launched a Free Online Coach Academy for professionals who are interested in Developmental Golf Programming. All golf professionals are welcome to create a free account to access coach training.
To get access to the course, Golf Professionals can create a free coach account at https://operation36golf.com/#/register-coach or sign into their account at Operation36Golf.com
Current Operation 36 coaches will have access to a pilot program called Future 36ers powered by Birdie Basics, which includes a curriculum, lesson plans and marketing materials for coaches to launch a 3-6 year old program.
This ongoing partnership reflects a common goal of providing the best possible long-term junior development, and one that begins in the formative years.
About Operation 36
Operation 36 is the most effective developmental program to teach beginners how to play golf. All new players begin on the course, and instead of starting at the tee box, they play from 25 yards away from the hole. Once the player shoots par (36) from 25 yards, they back up to 50 yards, and so on, until they are shooting even par
(36) from the full tee box. Participants engage in weekly classes taught by golf professionals and all progress of the golfersistracked in the Operation 36 Platform.
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers and retaining them for the long term.
