Seasoned Executive to Oversee all Talent Recruitment, Training and People Development
GREENWICH, Conn.– Global sports and entertainment agency Outlyr announced today the promotion of Lesley Baker to the newly created position of Chief People Officer.
Baker will be responsible for all aspects of Outlyr’s talent recruitment, development and training, as well as overseeing Outlyr’s capabilities in supporting the company’s future growth plans. She will continue to strengthen Outlyr’s growing team and culture, including the company’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and will continue to oversee multiple events within Outlyr’s events and lifestyle portfolio. She will continue to report to Outlyr Managing Partner Tim Erensen and Partner Andy Bush.
“Lesley’s business acumen combined with her personality in championing and advocating for people and her events makes her one of the most respected executives in our industry,” said Bush. “She started as an intern in our Arkansas office nearly 17 years ago. To see her career advance while staying grounded and committed to the well-being of her fellow teammates has been an inspiration and an invaluable trait. This gives her a unique vantage point on people and culture as we move our company forward, and I’m excited to see what this next chapter brings.”
“The best part about my job is the people – I believe we have the best in the business – and we have a lot of fun doing the work we do,” said Baker. “I am excited to work alongside Tim and Andy to champion the overall employee experience and continuing to strengthen the company’s culture through our events and experiences.”
Baker has been with Outlyr since 2020, most recently serving as executive vice president. Prior to Outlyr, she spent more than a decade at Octagon in the company’s global events division, starting out as an intern while in college at the University of Arkansas.
During her 17-year career, she has directed multiple sporting events across sports and entertainment. She was one of the first female tournament directors on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit and has overseen multiple LPGA Tour events throughout the country. Beyond golf, Baker has expertise in event and partnership management, people management, community engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, sustainability programs and culinary experiences.
With the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G on the LPGA Tour taking place this week in Arkansas, she returns to the community and the event where her professional career started 17 years ago.
Baker graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. The Hillsboro, Ill., native currently resides in Chicago and manages the company’s Chicago office.
