PACE OF PLAY TECHNOLOGY, SAVING 25MIN ON ROUND TIMES, NOW AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE
COURSE RANGER, PACE OF PLAY TECHNOLOGY, IS THE GREEN LIGHT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF SLOW PLAY IN GOLF
PGA MERCHANDISE SHOW 2020, Orlando, Florida USA.
Following the launch at the 2019 PGA Show, Course Ranger is proud to announce our new integrated rechargeable battery system is now allowing us to deliver a complete pace of play solution worldwide.
Course Ranger provides an accurate and cost-effective system for golf clubs, across the world who are affected by Slow Play. Course Ranger’s pace of play technology, provides objective and verifiable answers to the pace of play questions, that golf clubs everywhere have been trying to answer. The Course Ranger system is currently in use on 9 courses in the Florida area. One of our courses, PGA NATIONAL, PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA, USA, has seen consistent reductions in round times of up to 45 minutes on shotguns and 25 minutes on tee sheet times.
With our newly launched battery system, our posts have a battery life of 45 days and come with a second battery set, allowing batteries to be replaced within 1 hour, making sure you keep your players moving and allowing course staff to focus on and deliver a fantastic service.
The concept behind the Course Ranger system is simple; let the golfers know what their pace of play is at each hole and they will adjust their own pace before it becomes a problem for everyone.
On each hole, a battery-powered intelligent light post is placed near the tee box. As the golfer approaches the post, coloured light is displayed.
Green means you’re on Pace or you are keeping up with the group in front.
Amber means you’re starting to fall behind Pace and not keeping up with the group in front.
Red means that you are behind Pace and not keeping up with the group in front.
Course Ranger also provides an online interface to course staff, allowing them to monitor the positioning and pace of play of all groups. If assistance is needed, they can engage with the golfer, using the objective information supplied by the Course Ranger system. For management, the Course Ranger system offers comprehensive live data analytics, showing what is happening on the course, e.g., how often people play, age groups and customisable reports to match the needs of any club. The system will allow for an increase in green fee revenues due to the quantifiable reduction in round times, while enhancing the golfers experience.
Slow play is now endemic in golf and is the number 1 issue that poses a real threat to the future and sustainability of the game globally. It is a problem that not only affects the smooth operational running of tee times for members, but can also have a detrimental effect on the visitor experience. In today’s competitive world, it is not enough to present a beautifully designed course in great condition, offering a real test of golf, it is just as important to manage the logistics of just how long it takes to play. Leading figures from the governing bodies and world of golf have been vocal regarding the issue of Pace of Play.
Course Ranger founder and CEO, Peter Dunlea from Killarney, Ireland, says “Our Course Ranger SYSTEM is quick and easy to install for host golf clubs. With features that offer multiple pace of play settings, all golf clubs will be able to find the correct round time, that will allow golfers flow through the golf course and enjoy the benefit that comes from that. The visual aspect of the Course Ranger technology easily integrates into a golf club surrounds. The real business benefits for golf clubs with the Course Ranger system is clearly visible, in the availability of additional tee times, resulting in increased green fee revenue. The most significant benefits of all are the increased membership and visitor satisfaction which is greatly enhanced by the smooth running of play on the course. A happy customer means return business and chance of more spend when in the club. For Club managers an important feature is the detailed statistical information that Course Ranger provides to golf clubs, allowing them to extract a wide range of data regarding their membership playing profile and the effect that certain course layouts may have on the pace of play, hole by hole.”
