Wins at TimberTech Championship
Industry-leading speed training has positioned Harrington as one of game’s top drivers
TULSA, OK – SuperSpeed Golf brand ambassador Padraig Harrington continued his impressive play this year on the PGA TOUR Champions with a resounding victory in the TimberTech Championship at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fl.
Birdieing six of his first seven holes, Harrington fired a final round 64 to capture his sixth title on PGA TOUR Champions by seven shots. He finished first in the field in driving distance, averaging 294 yards per drive.
Harrington has incorporated SuperSpeed’s swing speed training programs into his fitness and practice routines, enabling him to gain speed and add distance to his game at 52 years old. This season he owns the longest drive recorded on PGA TOUR Champions with a 529-yard tee shot on the 18th hole in the final round of the Hoag Classic.
“A lot of people think it’s all about speed which is very important but what it is really about is having speed in your comfort zone while playing.” said Harrington. “SuperSpeed has been in the game the longest, they have built these programs, they have the experience and they have done the research. If you don’t have speed, you are behind the 8-ball and giving up a lot.”
“Padraig always has been of the game’s elite players, as evidenced by his recent election to the World Golf Hall of Fame, and our technology and approach to training has played a role in continuing to take his game to new heights,” said Michael Napoleon, President of SuperSpeed Golf. “His win at the TimberTech Championship is a testament to the hard work he’s put in on strengthening his game, allowing him to excel at a challenging golf course.”
In total, Harrington has tallied more than 35 professional victories including two this season, reached a highest Official World Golf Ranking of No. 3 and was named an inductee to the World Golf Hall of Fame for 2024. In recent years, he has made speed training and overall strength a priority for his continued improvement. At 52, he has reached the fastest swing speed of his professional career, emerging as one of the longest hitters on PGA TOUR Champions with ball speeds regularly reaching more than 180 mph.
