(PALM CITY Fla.) – Palm Cove Golf – five miles east of Stuart, Fla., 45 minutes north of West Palm Beach and once home to the late, great Chi Chi Rodriguez – has begun a transformation under new ownership.
Formerly open to the public, Palm Cove Golf will convert to exclusively private supported by considerable upgrades to the 18-hole golf course, restaurant and pro shop.
Members and guests will enjoy wider fairways for better playability and open, clear sightlines after correcting years of overgrowth. Sandford & Ferris Golf Design is leading the course reimagination under the guidance of principal John Sanford, Past President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Near-future plans include new green complexes, tee boxes, bunkers and a state-of-the-art irrigation system.
Like many of America’s most exclusive, boutique private country clubs, Palm Cove Golf intends not to exceed 300 members and operate without tee time reservations, typifying the charm, personalization and freedoms of an intimate membership base.
The restaurant and pro shop are undergoing a gutting and redesign, offering members fresh, modern experiences reflecting Palm Cove Golf’s commitment to top-quality amenities and services. Indoor and outdoor dining boasts refreshed menus ranging from upscale chef’s tastings from a new culinary team to casual handheld options.
Currently closed, Palm Cove Golf plans to re-open on or around February 1, 2025.
In its prime, the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player have played Palm Cove Golf. New ownership, along with operator Landscapes Golf Management, plan to honor such rich legacy for a new generation of golfers.
New Palm Cove Golf leadership includes golf course superintendent Jim Kilgore, a 27-year star at Dye Preserve in Jupiter, Fla.; executive chef Matt Branche who worked at Michelin-star country clubs and prides himself on gastronomic delights; longtime membership and marketing executive Cody O’Callaghan; and Director of Golf Richard LeConche, a Class-A PGA Professional who played on professional golf tours.
“Our exclusive membership draws together individuals who share a singular passion for the exceptional in every aspect,” said O’Callaghan. “In bringing Palm Cove Golf back to life, we will cater to the whims of members with programming that cultivates a tight-knit group and a destination where guests will be thoroughly impressed.”
