PAULA CREAMER JOINS SKYiGOLF TEAM
Paula Creamer, the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open champion, winner of 10 LPGA events and one of the most popular players in women’s golf, has joined the team of SKYiGOLF as the company’s first brand ambassador. Creamer will wear the SKYiGOLF logo in competition in 2019 and participate in exciting interactive opportunities with her SKYiGOLF fan base.
SKYiGOLF, launched Oct. 30 at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla., is a company that strives to make golf more fun for everyday players while providing tools and technology to PGA Professionals and golf course owners to help them to run their businesses more efficiently.
“I’ve been impressed by the SKYiGOLF launch, I believe in the team’s long-range vision and I think this is a company that can give a great boost to a game that I love,” Creamer said. “Can you imagine going to a SKYiGOLF course one Saturday morning with your friends and making a hole-in-one that pays you $10,000? That’s fun. Golf needs to be more fun.”
SKYiGOLF’s perks for golfers include $10,000 hole-in-one opportunities on designated holes at each SKYiGOLF facility, a SKYiGOLF Global Scramble Championship – the November 2019 finals to be staged at three world-class courses in the Bahamas, with players staying at Atlantis Resort – as well as SKYiGOLF Rewards and Sweepstakes programs that reward frequent play.
For PGA Professionals and course owners, SKYiGOLF will provide the tools and technology to help run a more efficient business, decreasing costs while increasing revenues. Through SKYiGOLF’s partnerships with high-tech companies foreUP and On-Pin, course owners will be experience improved point of sale and tee-time booking technology as well as complete course integration technology to monitor such things as pace of play.
“Paula Creamer is the perfect person to be the first brand ambassador for SKYiGOLF,” said Rich Smith, PGA, the Founder/CEO of SKYiGOLF. “She is universally loved around the globe. Her motivation to help the Folds of Honor, our charity partner, aligns perfectly with us, and she is eager to do what she can to help us improve the game of golf for everybody who plays it, as well as for PGA Pros and owner/operators.
“We’re honored to add Paula to the SKYiGOLF team.”
Creamer, known to her loyal fans as The Pink Panther, rose to instant stardom on the LPGA after turning professional in 2004. She won her first LPGA title in 2005 one week before her graduation at the IMG Pendleton School and was LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2005.
In 2010 at famed Oakmont Country Club outside Pittsburgh, Creamer was the only player to beat par en route to her biggest achievement, winning the U.S. Women’s Open. Creamer ranks 10th all-time in LPGA earnings, having earned nearly $12 million. She has been part of seven U.S. Solheim Cup teams, putting together an impressive record of 17-9-5. Creamer missed that last three months of 2017 and first three months of 2018 after wrist surgery but is healthy again and highly motivated for 2019.
“When I think of a modern player that really connects with all ages of golfers, I think of Paula,” said Glenn Wise, SKYiGOLF’s Director of Strategy and Execution. “To have Paula’s input and energy to make this connection between SKYiGOLF and golfers is awesome.”
A portion of every round played at a SKYiGOLF facility will be donated to the Folds of Honor, which provides educational scholarships to military families. Since its start in 2007, the Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 20,000 scholarships. On Nov. 10, Smith will hand the Folds of Honor a check for $55,000 from his first-year program at Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club at Bobcat Trail in Northv Port, Fla.
