Pebble Beach Pro-Am Winner Chooses Cleats
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., February 10, 2020 – The winner of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless footwear as he outplayed a strong field to earn his second-career PGA Tour victory. He was one of four pro tour winners this week to opt for the traction, stability and control provided by cleated footwear from PrideSports® brands Softspikes® and Champ®.
“All of the tours are back for 2020 and the early results are trending in the same direction as last year – more players are winning in cleated footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Cleated footwear provides advantages that spikeless footwear simply cannot match.”
At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the winner wore adidas® Tour 360 BOA footwear with Thintech EXP replaceable cleats. On the final leaderboard, 24 of the top 37 finishers wore cleats.
On the European Tour, the winner of the ISPS Handa Vic Open chose Nike Roshe G Tour footwear with Pivix replaceable cleats. The LPGA Tour winner at the ISPS Handa Vic wore Nike Vapor Pro footwear with Pivix cleats.
The Korn-Ferry Tour winner at the Country Club de Bogata Championship chose FootJoy® Dryjoy shoes with Softspikes® Silver Tornado cleats.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.
CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
