Golf Weather Impact: Daily double! April GPH and March Utilization both solidly up
As the northern climes open their ’21 season, most were greeted by healthy Golf Playable Hours (GPH) gains vs. Year-Ago (YA) as the national figure advanced 9% compared to April ’20. That nearly erased the Q1 deficit with the Year-to-Date figure now registering -2% (from nearly double-digit down at the end of March).
Played Rounds for March, as published by Golf Datatech, were an eye-popping +45% for the month but we have to remember that’s against widespread COVID lockdowns Month 1 in ’20. The added benefit is that the rounds favorability came against basically flat weather reported last month (+1%) so we got a double-digit Utilization gain of 25 points marking our 10th consecutive month of beating the weather, wow!
