U.S. Golf Association: Selects five players to represent the USA in the 2012 Curtis Cup Match, June 8-10 at The Nairn Golf Club in Scotland. The players are: Amy Anderson, of Oxbow, N.D.; Lindy Duncan, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Austin Ernst, of Seneca, S.C.; Tiffany Lua, of Rowland Heights, Calif.; and Brooke Pancake, of Chattanooga, Tenn. The remaining three players will be announced later this month.

Wilson Golf: Signs Stiggy Hogdson, 21, a two-time Walker Cup player, to an endorsement agreement. Hogdson will play the European Challenge Tour in 2012.

Sevillano Links (Corning, Calif.): Head golf professional Ron Kuwata receives the Northern California PGA President’s Plaque, awarded to individuals for contributions to player development and promotion of the game.

Golf Course Superintendents Association of Northern California: To recognize five members for outstanding contributions within the golf and turf care industry at its annual meeting Jan. 9 at The Course at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, Calif.

U.S. Golf Association: Selects turfgrass scientist Dr. Wayne Hanna, of Chula, Ga., as the recipient of the 2012 USGA Green Section Award for his achievements in developing environmentally friendly grasses that have impacted golf courses around the world.

TGA Premier Junior Golf: Honored five of its franchise owners – awarding them the 5 E’s for Excellence Awards – at the company’s national conference held at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix, Ariz.

AboutGolf: PGA Tour simulator user Luke Donald was voted PGA Tour Player of the Year, and won both the PGA and European tour money titles.

Ecco: Hires MaryBeth Cobia as territory manager for the company’s U.S. Golf Division.

Mizuno: Tour staffer Luke Donald was named the 2011 PGA Tour Player of the Year in a vote by PGA Tour players. Donald, the world No. 1-ranked player, won two PGA Tour events and the money title.

Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals: Certifies Bob Williams of San Gabriel Valley, Calif., as a Level 10-qualified clubfitter.

Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals: Certifies Rick Grinstead of Louisville, Ky., as an AGCP Level 9-qualified clubfitter.

Paramount Country Club (New York, New York): Names Steve Scott, the 1996 U.S. Amateur runner-up to Tiger Woods, as head golf professional. Scott was previously head golf professional at The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J.

Yamaha Golf-Car Co.: Hires Matthew Jones as district sales manager for south Texas.
