U.S. Golf Association: Names Inez “Nez” Muhleman of Houston as recipient of the 2011 Joe Dey Award. Muhleman has dedicated herself to the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and will officially retire from the tournament’s Championship Committee in December. The Joe Dey Award recognizes an individual’s meritorious service to the game as a volunteer.

U.S. Golf Association: Selects Lorena Ochoa, who dominated the LPGA for four years before retiring at age 28, and whose foundation has benefited hundreds of Mexico’s underprivileged children, to receive its 2011 Bob Jones Award. The USGA’s highest honor is given in recognition of distinguished sportsmanship in golf, and seeks to recognize a person who emulates Jones’ spirit, his personal qualities and his attitude toward the game and its players.
