PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (May 9, 2018) – PGA Golf Club – the PGA of America’s premier 54-hole facility – congratulates Head Golf Professional Holly Taylor on being named the Merchandiser of the Year in the Resort Category for 2017 by the Southeast Chapter of the South Florida PGA section.
The award recognizes those Southeast Chapter PGA professionals who have demonstrated superior skills as merchandisers in the promotion of golf and excellence in golf shop operations. The candidates were judged in four areas: merchandising abilities and techniques; inventory levels and turn rate; shop display and attention to detail.
Taylor received the award at a ceremony on April 17 at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
“We are extremely proud of Holly receiving the Merchandiser of the Year award in the resort category from the Southeast Chapter,” says Jimmy Terry, PGA Golf Club General Manager. “Her and her staff take great pride in the appearance and ambiance of the golf shop, and making the shopping experience as memorable as the golf found here.”
Owned and operated by the PGA of America, PGA Golf Club’s golf shop is stocked with apparel for men, women and juniors from major manufacturers. The golf shop also supplies accessories, gift items and resort wear emblazoned with the PGA Golf Club logo, with innovative display enhancers and lighting to ensure merchandise is visually appealing.
Earlier this year, the Association of Golf Merchandisers recognized PGA Golf Club’s golf shop with its prestigious Platinum Award for the third consecutive year. The Platinum Award spotlights clubs and facilities nationwide with the most creative and innovative retail accomplishments, and successful initiatives that enhance customer relationships and experiences.
Known as the “Ultimate Golf Resort Destination,” PGA Golf Club is home to 54 holes of Championship golf. The entertaining layouts were designed by renowned architects Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.
