20 students from eight schools each earn $8,000 scholarships

FRISCO, Texas – The PGA of America REACH Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America, has awarded scholarships for the 2026-27 academic school year to 20 students at eight colleges and universities through the PGA WORKS John & Tamara Lundgren Scholars Program. Made possible by the Lundgrens’ generous support, each recipient receives $8,000 to assist their pursuit of PGA of America Membership while enrolled in one of the nation’s 16 accredited PGA Golf Management University Programs.
PGA WORKS serves as a strategic workforce initiative focused on broadening access and opening doors for talented individuals from populations historically underrepresented in the game and business of golf, and those aspiring to ascend to key employment positions within the golf industry and PGA of America Membership.
To qualify, candidates must be working toward a bachelor’s degree in a golf-industry-aligned major with the goal of becoming a PGA of America Member. Since launching in 2018, 138 PGA WORKS Golf Management University scholarships have been awarded, totaling $1,104,000.00.
“Our ongoing collaboration with John and Tamara Lundgren continues to create transformative opportunities for future leaders,” said Scott Kmiec, Executive Director of the PGA of America REACH Foundation. “We are incredibly appreciative of the Lundgrens for investing in these driven students, strengthening the foundation of our Association and ensuring the game continues to grow, innovate and thrive.”
Candidates were evaluated through a comprehensive review process measuring academic excellence, community and school leadership, honors and work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unique personal or family circumstances, and outside appraisal and active participation in the game of golf and playing ability.
The PGA of America REACH Foundation partners with Scholarship America, the country’s leading independent scholarship management organization, to oversee an objective, equitable selection process. Scholarship America is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals to help students achieve their college dreams.
