Brainerd, MN– The CRMC Championship presented by Northern Pacific Center has announced that two-time PGA Tour winner Kyle Stanley has received a special exemption to compete in this year’s tournament, held at Cragun’s Resort, Golf & Conference, August 28 to 31. Stanley has won both the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Quicken Loans National. His participation adds star power and excitement to the event, highlighting its significance on the professional golf calendar.
Stanley is set to continue his competitive season in this week’s John Deere Classic, July 3-6, where fans will have the opportunity to see him showcase his skills before he brings his talent to Cragun’s this summer.  Additionally, Minnesota native Carson Herron—who played in the 2024 CRMC Championship on a sponsor’s exemption—also will tee it up at the John Deere Classic.
The CRMC Championship will take place on the Red and White combination of the Dutch 27 Course.  The Dutch Red was recently reopened following an extensive renovation by Tom Lehman.
This is the fourth year that the CRMC Championship presented by Northern Pacific Center has been held at Cragun’s Resort Golf & Conference.  Past champions include two-time PGA Tour winner Jake Knapp (2022), Yi Cao (2023), and Frederik Kjettrup (2024).

About Cragun’s Resort, Golf & Conference

Since 1940, Cragun’s Resort, Golf and Conference has been a beloved fixture in the Brainerd Lakes community, attracting thousands of tourists annually with its outdoor amenities and scenic location. After being owned by the Cragun family for 85 years, the resort was sold to a Baxter-based company in a deal believed to be the largest resort transaction in Minnesota history, completed without brokers through a relationship-based agreement with Dutch Cragun. Despite the change in ownership, the staff and leadership team will remain intact to preserve the resort’s legacy and ongoing operations. The new owners plan to spend 2025 understanding the resort’s operations and investing in future improvements, aiming to sustain and enhance Cragun’s tradition as a premier, full-service destination with a prime lakeside location, a mile of sandy beach, golf courses, and a dedicated team.
