Central Michigan University Graduate Danielle Muench Named PGA WORKS Fellow for the South Florida PGA Foundation
Muench will support junior golf and community outreach programs managed by the Section’s Foundation and work on event preparation for the 2020 Honda Classic
Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.(July 30, 2019) — The South Florida PGA Section, in conjunction with PGA REACH, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America, is excited to name 2019 Central Michigan University graduate Danielle Muench, of Huntington Woods, Michigan, as their second-ever PGA WORKS Fellow.
Muench’s appointment makes her one of 11 individuals nationwide currently serving in a PGA WORKS Fellowship. Focused on engaging a diverse demographic of participants—with consideration to gender, age, race, national origin, sexual orientation, disability and Veteran status—the PGA WORKS Fellowship is designed to establish a strong bench of talent prepared to ascend into key employment positions within the business of golf.
Muench recently earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree at Central Michigan University, where she studied public relations and planned events for multiple organizations. She also carries a passion for golf and values the positive impact the game has on her life. Last year, Muench worked as the assistant junior golf instructor at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course, where she facilitated golf drills, activities and other course operation duties.
In her role as PGA WORKS Fellow, Muench will work with the South Florida PGA Foundation for seven months, devoting her time to supporting its junior golf programs. Then, she will spend the remaining five months of her Fellowship working directly with Children’s Healthcare Charity, helping in the preparations for the 2020 Honda Classic.
“All career paths start with awareness and opportunity, and providing individuals from all backgrounds employment opportunities in the golf industry is a priority for PGA REACH,” said PGA REACH Senior Director Ryan Cannon. “PGA WORKS is an important initiative that supports the Inclusion pillar of PGA REACH, and we’re thrilled to create new possibilities through the PGA WORKS Fellowship to pursue the dream of a career in golf.”
“We’re excited to add Danielle to our team at the South Florida PGA,” said South Florida PGA Executive Director Geoff Lofstead. “Through our partnership with the Honda Classic, we hope to provide Danielle with broad experience on the administrative side of the golf industry, by having the chance to work on both our foundation junior golf programming, as well as with a high-profile PGA Tour event.”
The PGA WORKS Fellowship is a 12-month paid position funded by PGA REACH, which currently hosts Fellows in 11 PGA Sections: Carolinas, Connecticut, Gateway, Metropolitan, Michigan, Middle Atlantic, New Jersey, Northern Ohio, Southern Ohio, Western New York and South Florida.
“I am thrilled to be named a PGA WORKS Fellow and have the opportunity to promote the game through programs managed by the South Florida PGA, as well as gain valuable experience working on event preparation for the 2020 Honda Classic,” said Muench.
