PHOENIX COUNTRY CLUB FOUNDATION MAKES
DONATIONS TO FOUR CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
Phoenix, Ariz. (February 14, 2019) – The Phoenix Country Club Foundation recently donated funds to four charitable organizations from proceeds raised through the 2018 Charles Schwab Cup Championship, held at the club November 8th – 11th. The Phoenix Country Club Foundation raised the funds through food and beverage sales during the PGA TOUR Champions season-ending event, which was won by Vijay Singh.
The Phoenix Country Club Foundation Committee selected the following organizations to each receive $5,000 donations:
- Executive Council 70
- Elevate Phoenix
- Junior Golf Association of Arizona
- North High School
“We’re thrilled to be able to give back to the community and help four terrific organizations,” said John Spensieri, Committee Chairman, Phoenix Country Club Foundation. “Phoenix Country Club has a proud history of hosting championship events. The Foundation’s work during the Charles Schwab Cup Championship made these donations possible.”
Managed by Troon Privé, Phoenix Country Club was founded in 1899 and has hosted many of the city’s most influential people throughout its 120 year history. The club’s 18-hole golf course was originally designed by Harry Collis, with a 2002 redesign by Tom Lehman and John Fought. The club hosted the Phoenix Open golf tournament from 1932 through 1986 and today hosts the PGA TOUR Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Championship. In addition to golf, other world-class amenities include a beautiful clubhouse, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, formal and casual dining options, a tennis complex with ten Hard Courts, and four Junior QuickStart courts, three swimming pools, men and women’s locker facilities, and a barbershop with two full-time barbers on staff.
