PHOENIX – Junior Golf University (JGU) is excited to welcome premium eyewear brand Raen as a new sponsor of its flagship program, PING Junior Interclub (PJI).
Southern California based Raen makes men’s and women’s premium eyewear, building frames by hand with the highest standards to ensure exceptional fit, comfort and durability in support of active, outdoor lifestyles.
Raen will be visible at all PJI tournaments and within its marketing materials, including the website alongside other supporters such as PING, ECCO, FlexFit, Bushnell, UST Mamiya, YETI, and Linksoul. “Raen has built a premium brand by focusing on quality and higher standards,” said John Souza, Executive Director of the Junior Golf University. “Their business philosophy aligns with ours to the extent that they promote the sporting life, and they do that from their base in the sun-and-surf culture of Oceanside, California, which helps to give their products a real ‘cool’ factor, so Raen will be a popular addition to our efforts.”
Raen CEO Jeff Fitzhugh said of the sponsorship, “It is an honor to support Junior Golf University and the young players. What a great organization this is, giving a chance for the future of golf to compete. Anytime we are approached to support junior golf, we at Raen love to do just that.”
The PJI tournament series is managed by JGU, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Phoenix. The PJI provides junior golfers (boys and girls, ages 12-18) with team-based tournaments. Five-person teams are formed by private, public and resort-style golf courses. Each team competes in PJI Divisional tournaments, one event hosted by each course within a Division. Top finishers from each Division advance to post-season play.
JGU provides online tournament management for PJI events and administrative support to PJI teams. In 2008, eight teams from the Phoenix area participated in the first season of the PJI. The program has experienced tremendous growth, expanding to more than 70 teams with over 500 junior golfers.
Raen joins Linksoul™, UST Mamiya, Bushnell, YETI, PING®, ECCO®, and FlexFit as a sponsor.
