The private golf course blends a desert style with a traditional links style design
SAN DIEGO, CA. – Pizá Golf, internationally recognized as one of the most innovative golf course design firms, is proud to introduce the 18-hole championship golf course prominently featured within the master planned community of Zitara Golf.
“We’re exceptionally proud of the golf course and master plan at Zitara. It will offer its members a world-class experience of beauty with the emblematic views of Mt. Picacho, a challenge with the combinations of strategic, penal, and heroic holes with undulating fairways, elevated fairway bunkers, and loads of vertical expressions,” said Agustin (Augie) Pizá, President and Founder of Pizá Golf.
The golf course spans the entire Zitara – Ciudad Residencial community and measures out from the black tees at 7,000+ yards, par 71. The members tees are approximately 6,500 yards. The routing begins and ends at the ultra-lux Bernardo Pozas designed clubhouse and reaches the farthest points of the property. The front nine boast three fun and exciting par-5 holes and the back nine feature three intriguing par-3 holes which include an island green on hole 17.
“I designed Zitara for the members to discover something new or different each time they play the golf course through design nuances. I consider this approach an ensemble as each hole interrelates to each other.”
Pizá weaves beauty at Zitara by designing holes with the backdrop of the area’s emblem of Mt. Picacho. Holes 3, 4, 5, 11, and 15 have direct views of the stunning mountain range where the routing carefully takes the golfer exploring on both 9’s. In addition, golfers will enjoy night golf as holes 12 through 18 are illuminated.
A two-sided driving range offers members a private practice and instructional area in the front and at the back end, adjacent to top quality restaurants and terraces, is a fully gamified driving range for the public. This area will feature music, firepits, as well as food and beverage for the ultimate practice experience.
Zitara is a master planned community laid out by Pizá Golf and developed by the Plusvalterra Group. It is designed to offer one place to live, work, relax, and golf. It is the first large-scale project in Aquacalientes, spanning 200-hectares, and features an integrated development that spans across residential, commercial, sports, and cultural areas. Additionally, it will be a reference point for the entire region with its world class amenities.
