July 19, 2020

Aussie Software Engineer brings simulators mainstream with SAAS business model.

In Episode 6 of GIR we offer a seat at the roundtable to Brett Campbell, CEO of About Golf. In this weeks show we dig into his acquisition of About Golf, the obvious impacts of the recent health crisis on the sim business and the evolving business model of aboutGolf away from just hardware to more of a software as a service offering. The COIVD-19 global health crisis is having a profound impact on the game of golf, no where more directly that in the virtual golf or simulator business. On the one hand, as you might have expected, Brett highlights some successes they are having with their residential business through the launch of the agTrainer, a sim in a box DIY type setup. On the other hand, the business of indoor golf centers and commercial simulators is having to drastically adjust to limited capacity and social distancing standards.

Brett’s extensive background in enterprise software development is beginning to show through transformation of About Golf‘s transformation from a hardware company to a software as a service type model. Brett shares with the listener’s insights from the recent launches of additional social and content add on to about Golf including agLinks, agLocker, agContents and agTrainer and agTour.aG simulators offer a host of family entertainment activities, including home cinema and a variety of games. aG continues its commitment to entertaining customers from the comfort of their homes throughout this crisis and beyond.
