Pound Ridge Golf Club Continues Banner 10th Anniversary Year
(POUND RIDGE, N.Y.) – Pound Ridge Golf Club – legendary Pete Dye’s modern marvel in Westchester County – continues a banner season for its 10th anniversary year highlighted by pristine course conditions and a “pure” golf experience few public facilities can match.
Ranked No. 4 in GOLF Magazine’s “Best Courses You Can Play in New York,” Pound Ridge is Dye’s only Empire State design. Less than an hour drive from New York City, a half-hour from White Plains and less than 15 minutes from both Stamford and Greenwich, (Conn.), the World Golf Hall of Famer’s acclaimed layout has become one of the premier “must-play” public courses in the region.
Pound Ridge is carved from 172 acres of beautiful countryside – including dramatic cliffs, streams and wooded, rolling hills – into a fun and challenging par-72 course. The course features five sets of tees ranging from 5,151 to 7,165 yards providing challenges and fun for golfers of all skill levels.
The eighteen-hole rates for the remainder of the 2018 golf season are $150 (Mon. – Thurs.) and $230 (Fri. – Sun. / holidays). The popular weekend and holiday green fee of $150 for 18 holes is available after 1 p.m. Until Oct. 28, Pound Ridge also offers a daily nine-hole rate of $80 for play before 1 p.m. and after 2:30 p.m. including weekends. On Friday through Sunday and holidays, a nine-hole rate of $120 is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All guests receive a complimentary yardage book, bottled water and range balls. Carts are equipped with state-of-the-art GPS for obtaining dead-aim-accurate yardages from any position.
“When we first met with Pete Dye before the course was built, our goal was for him to create something truly special for the public player in Westchester County as well as the New York City metro area,” says Ken Wang, owner of Pound Ridge. “That vision has certainly come to fruition and we look forward to the next 10 years of providing unique and thrilling rounds of golf few courses can match.”

About Pound Ridge Golf Club
Opened in 2008, Pound Ridge Golf Club is the only course in New York designed by the legendary Pete Dye. Located in Westchester County, it is less than an hour north of New York City and less than 15 minutes from both Stamford and Greenwich, Conn. Pound Ridge Golf Club is among the few premier high-end, public courses in the metropolitan New York area.
Crafted by Dye, his son Perry and long-time Dye construction manager/lead shaper Michael Langkau, Pound Ridge Golf Club is a full bentgrass facility, hewn from 172 acres of magnificent cliffs, streams and wooded hills. Dramatic rock formations and boulders were left onsite, creating one of the most visually stunning settings for golf in the U.S. More than 14,000-linear-feet of rock wall surrounds trees, wetlands and water hazards. These dramatic outcrops frame several of the contoured fairways. Additional natural features include hardwood forests and fescue mounds leading to open meadows with picturesque green complexes.
Fans of Dye will find all the legendary designer’s renowned touches on display: dramatic mounding, rhythmic routing and subtle deception meld to create an eminently challenging and fair golf experience. Pound Ridge Golf Club reflects the best in contemporary course design and is unique in a region filled with classic courses.
The par-72 Pound Ridge Golf Club measures 7,165 yards and houses five sets of tees. It boasts a practice range, short game area and putting green. The property features some of the highest points in Westchester County, with many tee boxes offering expansive vistas of the surrounding countryside.
Notable holes include the par-5, 13th – home to “Pete’s Rock,” a giant boulder that rests in the middle of the fairway – and the par-3 15th – dubbed “Headstone” – with a large rock outcropping lurking behind the elongated, 9,000-square-foot green.
