BRENTWOOD, Tenn., – The MacNeill Pride Group announces that winners at this past weekend’s events on the PGA, LPGA, Champions, Korn Ferry and European Tours all relied on replaceable cleat solutions from Softspikes® and Champ® to capture victory.
Continuing the trend of the best players in the world choosing replaceable cleats over spikeless/tennis shoe alternatives, the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship was dominated by golfers who value the benefits of traction to help them play their best. The 42-year-old winner captured the third TOUR title of his career in dramatic fashion at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC., where he wore the Pulsar model from Softspikes® on his Footjoy Fury shoes. The tournament saw 22 of the top-26 finishers in replaceable cleats.
On other major tours around the world the results were similar. The winner of the LPGA Tour’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open trusted PINS Thintech XP spikes on her Adidas, while the European Tour’s Celtic Classic champion wore the Champ® ProStinger on his Nike Rochie shoes. Over on the PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS, the winner recorded his seventh title on the circuit at the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship, relying on the Cyclone model from Softspikes® in his Footjoy XPS shoes. Finally, at the Albertsons Boise Open on the Korn Ferry Tour, it was the Tornado model from Softspikes® that helped the winner capture his first victory of the season.
“The common thread among all of these great performances is these players understand the correlation between replaceable cleats and better on-course performance.” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports/MacNeill-Pride Group.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.
CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
