CLEAN SWEEP FOR CLEATED FOOTWEAR ON WORLD’S GOLF TOURS
The constant among the winners of the professional tours around the globe over the weekend was that they were all wearing footwear featuring replaceable cleat technology, including the world’s number two men’s player at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
“It was a quite a week for players wearing cleated footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “And, it was another clear indicator that the best players in the game value the importance of stability. Recreational golfers need to take note of how footwear with replaceable cleat technology can make a difference in their game.”
At the WGC-Mexico Championship, 18 of the top 19 finishers chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless/tennis shoes. In addition, so did the winners of the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open, the Honda LPGA Thailand, and the Australasian Tour’s Coca Cola QLD PGA Championship.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. CHAMP’s Helix, Zarma Tour and Stinger cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix, Pulsar, Silver Tornado and Stealth cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales.
