WASTE MANAGEMENT OPEN WINNER RETURNS TO TOP 10 WEARING CLEATED FOOTWEAR
Despite some tough breaks, the winner of the Waste Management Open kept his head in the game and feet planted on the ground as he held on in tough Sunday conditions. The victory, which was captured in cleated footwear, returned him to the top ten in the Official World Golf Ranking.
“It was another great weekend for players wearing cleated footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “The weather during the final round of the Waste Management Open was rough so we were glad to see so many players, including winner, relying on cleats to help them maintain traction.”
In addition to the winner, 22 of the top 26 finishers also chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless/tennis shoes. On the European Tour, the world’s number three player cruised to a two-stroke win in the Saudi International wearing cleated footwear, as did the winner of the Web.com Tour’s Country Club de Bogota Championship.
