Quarter Century since Co-founding the Caddie Hall of Fame
ORLANDO, Florida – Dennis Cone of Palm Coast, Florida, founder of the Professional Caddies Association, marks 30 years at the PGA Show promoting educational opportunities and life values of golf’s oldest tradition, and a quarter century since co-founding the Caddie Hall of Fame.
Cone and his wife, Laura, celebrate a milestone in tandem with the Caddie Hall of Fame, which they founded in 1999, and since 2011 has been administered by the Western Golf Association.
“It is a special week for us, and all those who carry passion about growing the game of a lifetime not only to kids and veterans, but to all communities throughout society,” said Dennis. “The PGA Show has been a wonderful partner and platform to spread the message of the PCA and the Caddie Hall of Fame. The Professional Caddies Association (PCA) was founded in 1997 by Dennis and Laura Cone of Palm Coast, Florida, with the launch of the Caddie Hall of Fame in 1999. Since 2011, the Caddie Hall of Fame (CHOF) has been administered by the Western Golf Association. The CHOF highlights the tradition and importance of caddying by celebrating individuals who have devoted their lives to the game of golf through caddying or by supporting the role of caddies. Past inductees include Charles “Chick” Evans, Jim Dent, Carl Jackson, Joe LaCava, Peter Lynch, Jack Nicklaus, Frances Ouimet, Charles Schwab, Fanny Sunesson, Madelyn “Moochie” Turner, Peter Ueberroth, Tom Watson, and Steve Williams.
