PROPONENT GROUP HEADED TO “BIG D” FOR 11TH ANNUAL SUMMIT
Proponent Group, golf’s only organization solely focused on helping the game’s instructors grow their businesses and build their careers, will be holding its 11th Annual Summit at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Texas, November 4-6.
The annual showcase of what’s coming next in golf instruction features several of the game’s foremost experts on coaching and growing the business of teaching, and includes a Demo Day with the latest state-of-the-art teaching technologies.
One of the highlights at this year’s Summit is a presentation on “Performance Coaching” from Jason Day’s longtime swing coach and former caddie Colin Swatton. Swatton has coached the 2015 PGA champion and former World No. 1 since the talented Aussie was 12 years old, and served as his caddie until September 2017. Swatton was on the bag for all but two of Day’s 12 PGA Tour wins.
Also scheduled to present at the 2018 Summit is Scott Fawcett, whose DECADE system of course management and target selection is sweeping through the amateur and professional ranks, and whose early adoptees include PGA and Web.com Tour winners, elite junior players and Top 25 college programs. Other featured presenters include Golf Channel Academy lead coach and Golf Scrimmages author, Trent Wearner; Urban Golf Academy founder and Golf Digest “Best Teacher” (New York) Kate Tempesta; and a Super Panel of putting experts, including Sam Froggatte, Todd Sones and Kevin Weeks, who will be answering any and all questions about putting.
“For the last 10 years as a member, the Proponent Summit has always been a highlight of the year for me as a golf coach,” said Andy Hilts, Director, Proponent Group. “The opportunity to network with the top coaches in the game and take home valuable nuggets always helped me get better at my chosen craft. With the variety of talented coaches we have sharing their knowledge and expertise, this year certainly won’t disappoint.”
In addition to hosting the annual Summit and other world-class education events, Proponent Group, a Golf Channel company, also provides its more than 650 Full and Associate Members with hours and hours of best practices education, contract negotiation strategies, unique networking opportunities, apparel and technology discounts, and a monthly newsletter dedicated to fresh instruction programming ideas.
Cowboys Golf Club is one of the Lone Star State’s only all-inclusive world-class resort golf properties. It takes its name from the National Football League (NFL) franchise Dallas Cowboys, and is the only NFL-themed golf club in the world. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opened the club, located about a 30-minute drive from downtown Dallas, in 2001. The clubhouse features replica Super Bowl trophies and other Cowboys memorabilia, and the championship course, designed by award-winning architect Jeff Brauer, pays homage to the Cowboys’ rich history through stone markers and other displays throughout the course.
