HEATHROW, FL – Leveraging artificial intelligence to optimize the value of its immense website of intellectual property, Proponent Group has set up a custom GPT tool and located it front and center on its member-only website, proponent-group.com.
The GPT, currently in beta stage, debuted in mid-May and has shown a steadily increasing frequency of use by the golf instructors who make up Proponent Group’s 500-plus membership.
Members who log into the Proponent website are greeted by a box carrying the message, “What would you like help with today?” They type in a topic or question related to the vast archive of documents and data in Proponent’s website and the GPT tool goes to work—searching for what they need and summarizing what it finds. This all happens at lightning speed, morning, noon or night, as the world has come to expect from artificial intelligence machinery.
“We take it as a responsibility to stay ahead of the AI wave and navigate its implications for our member coaches,” said Proponent Group founder Lorin Anderson. “Part of that is investing in the technology ourselves and deploying it to make our services and consultations to the membership more effective and efficient.”
Anderson points out that the company is still in beta mode with its GPT, testing it out and relying on member feedback to take next steps, once the usage level gets to a certain point. “This is ‘enterprise search” only,” he pointed out. “Whatever responses get produced will have come from inside the walls of Proponent Group, not from the wide world of data. Our testing of the GPT has shown it to quickly provide a complete answer to most queries, drawing upon our 20 years of data collection and best-practices information.”
He further noted that some machine-provided answers during this beta period have been incomplete. In light of that, all GPT responses conclude with instructions to contact Proponent headquarters by phone or email, if questions persist or there is more to discuss.
