-History was made as, for the first time in nearly fifty years, a Japanese player won the Moutai Singapore Open-
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – PROTOCONCEPT GOLF, a renowned Japanese designer and maker of high-quality premium golf equipment, is excited to share that its recently introduced soft-forged RR Wedges were used to win the Moutai Singapore Open. This victory catapulted the winner to fifth on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, and second on The International Series Rankings, potentially qualifying him for exemption status on the 2026 LIV Tour.
The victor clinched the Moutai Singapore Open title by winning on the first hole of a sudden-death play-off. He secured his victory with a six-foot birdie putt on the par-five 18th hole at the New Course of Singapore Island Country Club.
Many were not surprised by his victory, given the impressive rise in his performance this year. In May, he secured The Crowns tournament—among Japan’s most prestigious events—and just two weeks ago, he finished tied for second place at the International Series Philippines.
