BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – PrideSports® congratulates the winner of the 2024 Sony Open in Hawaii this weekend.
Only one hole was required in a three-man playoff at the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club on Sunday as the winner overcame a multi-year PGA Tour victory drought in one of his first events since returning to the Tour following the 2023 Korn Ferry season conclusion. The eventual champion trusted Pulsar spikes from Softspikes in his FootJoy Premier shoes to harness the performance benefits of replaceable traction technology.
With another PGA Tour season underway, the top athletes in the sport are continuing to opt for spikes from Softspikes or CHAMP to maximize their oncourse performance. At the Sony Open, 79% of the field chose to wear spiked footwear with replaceable traction.
“We’re excited for the 2024 season and for PGA Tour golf to be ramping up!.” Said Joe Henderson, President, PrideSports. “We design our products with these athletes in mind, so it’s always rewarding to see the reception on tour and our products in play at the highest level. We are looking forward to the next few weeks as the level of competition continues to elevate.”
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about impacts on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be swapping out their spikes every 15 rounds. The Tour Flex Pro can be found at Softspikes.com and major golf and sporting goods retailers nationwide.

The Brand Amp
[1] Independent research conducted by The Golf Lab. Testing included seven swings on wet grass pitting Softspikes Tour Flex Pro alongside spikeless shoes. The data revealed increased horizontal impact location by 32% and vertical impact consistency by 22%. The largest changes were found in golfers with a swing speed above 110 mph. In those cases, players averaged 5.2 more yards in total distance and their dispersion reduced by an astonishing 60%. In addition, high swing speed golfers achieved 40% more accuracy and 46% more consistent distance. The research unequivocally reinforced that spiked cleats provide golfers more consistency hitting the sweet spot, improved distance and accuracy.
