CARLSBAD, Calif. – PUMA Golf today announced the development of three exclusive IGNITE ELEVATE Tour golf shoes for J.J. Spaun to wear in the 2025 Ryder Cup. Designed with input from Spaun himself, red, white and blue designs celebrate Team USA while also telling Spaun’s unique bi-coastal story – reflecting his California roots on the left shoe and New York, host of this year’s tournament, on the right.
“Representing the U.S. in the Ryder Cup is such an honor, and a dream come true for me,” says Spaun. “Working with PUMA to create shoes that not only recognize that dream but also tell the story of how I got here makes this moment even more special.”
Proud to represent Team USA, Spaun asked PUMA Golf to design a fresh, patriotic look that also tells his life story.
- California Left Shoe – Ocean-inspired blue accents, state bear with surfboard on tongue tab, stars from Los Angeles city seal on heel tab
- New York Right Shoe – “Big Apple”-inspired red accents, State of Liberty torch on tongue tab, red and white stripes on heel tab
- Personal Touches – Silhouette of Spaun sinking the U.S. Open-winning putt on sockliner, his favorite quote by Confucius repeated on the soles, family’s initials
The lineup of IGNITE ELEVATE Tour shoes includes three variations, ranging from gradient PUMA logos and color-blocked saddles to metallic gold detailing and backpainted heel clips, ensuring each pair is a distinctive keepsake for Spaun. The custom designs will not be available for retail purchase.

Spaun will debut the shoes at the 45th Ryder Cup beginning Friday, Sept. 26.
