Congratulations to Brian Harmon for his dominant six shot win at the British Open, and to the coaches who worked with him as a junior golfer, the late Jack Lumpkin and Mike Shannon. Working with them at Sea Island, he became a dominant junior golfer, won the USGA Junior and spent some time as the #1 amateur in the world.
Brian maintained a close relationship with Jack Lumpkin, gave the eulogy at his funeral and even named his son after Jack. His win and press conference were very inspiring for the “little guys” in the game of golf.
Congratulations also to Sepp Straka and his short game instructor Tim Yelverton of Old Waverly. Sepp had a great tournament and finished T2.
