Congratulations again to George Pinnell for a record-setting performance by his long-time student Rose Zhang. The high school senior and current USGA Women’s Amateur Champion finished T11 and set the all-time scoring record for an amateur at the ANA Inspiration, the LPGA’s first major of the year. She made a great clutch putt for a birdie on the last hole to finish 8 under par and set the record.
Congratulations also to Miguel Angel Jimenez and Curtis Thompson for their wins last weekend on the PGA Tour Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour. It was Miguel’s second win this year and Curtis’s first professional win, after quitting the game for several years.
Finally, the Putting Arc congratulates Lauren Thompson from Midland City, GA and Brantley Scott from Dothan, AL for their wins last weekend at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour’s Magnolia Grove Junior Classic in Mobile, AL. Lauren shot rounds of 72-70 and Brantley shot 70-66 to secure their wins.
