Congratulations to Stanford freshman Rose Zhang on her win at the NCAA Women’s Individual Championship, held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. She shot rounds of 68-70-69-75 to finish at 6-under. Rose is the #1 ranked women’s amateur and a former USGA Women’s Amateur and Junior Champion. She has a very successful freshman season at Stanford, with four wins, four second place finishes, and a top 10 in every tournament she played this spring.
In the team match play portion of the NCAA’s, Rose anchored the Stanford women’s golf team with a 3 and 1 win in the final match to defeat Oregon 3 to 2, and give Stanford its second NCAA National Championship in women’s golf.
Congratulations also to Rose’s long-time coach, George Pinnell of the George Pinnell Golf Academy in Rowland Heights, California.
