Quick.golf Featured in the Pellucid Perspective
Jim Koppenhaver joins the Quick.golf movement
Read all about it in this month’s Pellucid Perspective: How Quick.golf can solve two of golf’s most persistent issues – time and money. Jim Koppenhaver writes the feature article that can be read here:

Koppenhaver experienced Quick.golf at Shepherd’s Crook in Zion, IL and writes, “The concept is fairly simple and follows some other sports industries (bowling, skiing, etc.) that have adopted this flexible pay and play model. Rather than offering golf as a product limited to 18 and 9-hole offerings, could you tailor it better to today’s consumer preferences by making it available in 4-hole, 6-hole, 13-hole experiences and priced accordingly?” He concludes, “Overall, the app works as advertised and is sound in its technology, features and functionality. Pellucid has no dog in this hunt other than wanting to see new things tried, adopted and either proven or rejected by consumers, not by our collective lack of initiative. I’ll take my chances on “paygo” golf being viable in some way, shape or form.”
At the recent Golf Inc. Summit, Kemper Sports CEO Steve Skinner said, “”People are consuming golf in different ways. It’s not just playing 18 holes for 4½ hours. It’s maybe playing three holes or six holes.” (Golf Inc. Business and Real Estate, Sept. 19, 2018).
“Smart people in golf are becoming increasingly aware that new things need to be tried if we are to grow, or at least maintain, the game of golf at golf courses,” says Quick.golf co-founder Harvey Silverman. “There is no doubt that my work with Pellucid for 10 years had a great influence on the creation of Quick.golf. We appreciate Koppenhaver as analyst making the time and effort to test our web app and write a feature article about his experience. We don’t know what he shot but it sounds like he enjoyed his time on the course. Now, who steps up to say, “I’m in?”
About Quick.golf LLC: Quick.golf is golf’s contribution to the convenience revolution pioneered by services like Open Table and Lyft. Pay-by-hole golf is not new but using technology to pair golfers who don’t have enough time to play a full round with golf courses that offer pay-by-hole makes it a viable way for many courses to promote and generate incremental revenue. Our web app is easy to implement and manage and is finding its way to both advanced-thinking course operators, and to golfers whose lifestyles demand an alternative to play the game.
