Brentwood, Tenn., – The winner of the RBC Heritage enjoyed an emotional return to the winner’s circle, after 3 years, on Sunday afternoon. Wearing Pulsar spikes in his FootJoy HyperFlex golf shoes, the 2 time Major Champion birdied the first playoff hole to secure his 16th PGA Tour title and a 16th win for players wearing spikes in the past 18 events.
In total, 42 of the top 48 finishers playing in the Signature event at Harbour Town Golf Links chose to compete in replaceable spikes over a spikeless alternative. 89% of the field competed in spikes and 39% in Tour Flex Pro.
Over in China, at The Volvo China Open it was another win for Pulsar with the 39-year-old Chinese native securing his fifth DP World Tour title following a final round 65.
“What a joy it was to watch one of our nation’s greatest golfing talents return to the winner’s circle and become the 16th winner in 2025 who has chosen traction to get the job done,” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
