AUSTIN, Texas – ReelGOLF, an advanced, on-course videography system designed for the everyday golfer, announced today a free replacement plan for any golf courses that currently have the former “Swing King” cameras installed on their properties. Swing King was an Illinois-based golf technology company that offered remote hole-in-one contests to more than 400 courses across the country but has been out of business since mid-2022.
ReelGOLF is offering to remove the abandoned Swing King’s system and re-install its new, state-of-the-art Bosch® cameras in its place at no cost to the course owner. The ReelGOLF team will then collaborate with course owners and operators to create a tailored program that works as a revenue generator for the property. With the new ReelGOLF ecosystem, courses can drive revenue from daily closest-to-the-pin challenges, custom leaderboards and videos for events, and SMS text messaging for additional post-round player engagement.
Unlike Swing King, the ReelGOLF system records every player’s shot and sends it to them within minutes, irrespective of making a hole-in-one or not. Through its partnership with Bosch®, ReelGOLF installs government-approved, secure, AI-enabled cameras discreetly near tee boxes and greens of signature Par 3 holes. Players simply scan a QR code to activate the system. ReelGOLF then records their shot, adds shot tracing with the players’ names and course logo and sends the high-definition video to the player’s phone within minutes – packaged and ready to share on social platforms. Recently, ReelGOLF unveiled a new AI-enabled video technology that can find and measure a golf ball’s distance to the pin within less than half a ball (18 millimeters), enabling accurate and automated measurements on Par 3 holes.
As part of the replacement program, players can now have ReelGOLF record these personalized videos while also taking advantage of daily Par 3 challenges with prize amounts automatically awarded to the top-3 winners. For an entry fee in select locations, players can choose to play patented Par 3 challenges such as ‘Ring of Fire’, ‘Pick Your Poison’ and the all-time classic, ‘Closest-to-the-Pin.’ Throughout the day, ReelGOLF can send players live updates via a leaderboard and award the top three players automatically. For courses, the daily Par 3 challenges are hands-off competitions that can generate up to $50,000 or more in annual revenue per course.
To start the process, courses are being asked to contact James Dillon, Director of Business Development at info@reelgolf.com, or send a text to ReelGOLF at 737-282-5864.
“What started as a simple way to help players capture their on-course experience has grown into a platform for courses to leverage. The deeper we get into the industry, the more we realize how our technology can be used to create new revenue generation opportunities for course owners and operators,” said HIO Media, Inc. Founder and CEO, Kevin Imes. “With our Swing King replacement program, courses can leverage their previous installations with our ReelGOLF system, allowing them to provide players an enhanced, state-of-the-art, on-course experience.”
Beyond video recordings and Par 3 challenges, the ReelGOLF platform offers additional revenue generating add-ons such as custom event services for corporate and private events (like branded videos and leaderboards of participant shots), text messaging services for an additional point-of-contact with each player after the round is over, and more.
ReelGOLF’s viral success came after capturing two holes-in-one videos recorded in the span of a few minutes on the 19th hole of Payne’s Valley Golf Course at Big Cedar Lodge. Now, the ReelGOLF team is dedicated to providing courses with an ecosystem that turns their signature holes into profit centers.
