Madison, Miss. – Reunion Golf & Country Club General Manager Casey Smith and Director of Golf Ronny Ross recently completed a Golf Marathon, playing 100 holes of golf in one day to raise funds for Folds of Honor and their mission of providing post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled in the line of duty. In total, Smith and Ross raised more than $7,000 for Folds of Honor during the marathon through member donations and pledges.
Smith and Ross teed it up on Reunion Golf & Country Club’s Bob Cupp-designed 18-hole golf course, completing 100 holes in 9 hours. The 2021 Golf Marathon marked the third year that Reunion Golf & Country Club has held the Folds of Honor fundraiser with more than $25,000 raised over that time.
“We have a passion for the game of golf and for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms,” said Smith. “This event combined both of those passions into one. Our team at Reunion Golf & Country Club looks for ways to honor those that have served and continue to serve our country and the Folds of Honor is the perfect partner. Our members at Reunion are great supporters of this event every year and we are so thankful for all of their support.”
Founded in 2007, the Folds of Honor mission is to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. Since inception, Folds of Honor has awarded over 29,000 scholarships across all 50 states and beyond.
