ACCOMPLISHED ILLINOIS TEACHING PROFESSIONAL RICK SELLERS TO APPEAR ON GOLF CHANNEL’S ‘MORNING DRIVE’
Long-time PGA instructor Rick Sellers, a three-time Central Illinois Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year (2007, ’10, ’16), is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET.
Sellers, who teaches out of the Rick Sellers Indoor Golf Center in Bloomington, Ill.—a two-hour drive southwest of Chicago—is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select GCA coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including PGA Tour Champions Learning Center and School of Golf; Sellers is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
Various instructional tips from Sellers will also run on Golf Channel Academy’s Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the week.
“It’s a tremendous thrill and honor to be on Morning Drive,” said Sellers, the 2004 Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year. “I look forward to sharing some of my favorite drills and lessons with the viewers at home, and helping them with all facets of their games.”
An accomplished golfer who played for the University of Missouri, and later on the professional Florida mini-tours before turning to coaching, Sellers’ teaching philosophy has been shaped by many of the game’s top instructors, including Jim Hardy, Chuck Hogan and Stan Utley. A PGA member since 1982, Sellers enjoys teaching golfers of all age groups and abilities, from juniors to touring professionals, and has helped the local boys and girls golf teams at University High School in Normal, Ill., to multiple state championships.
Among Rick’s most notable current and former students are PGA and Champions Tour winner Peter Jacobsen and PGA Tour winner D.A. Points.
