RIDGELAND, MS. – SkyGolf®, maker of SkyCaddie®, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, announces SkyCaddie user Rob Coles took home the Legends Tour’s flagship trophy August 4th, with his win at the 2024 Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
Over four rounds, Coles conquered the punishing Trump International Golf Links with a -4 final total for his first Legends Tour victory, narrowly beating 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie by a single shot on the last green.
Both used their SkyCaddies all week, with Lawrie using his new SkyCaddie PRO 5X with his son Craig on the bag.
Coles and Lawrie, along with third place finisher Simon Khan, were the only golfers in the 90-man field to finish under par after a blustery weekend on the beautiful yet unforgiving Trump International course.
“I had to scramble my way around today” said Coles, “it was tough, and I leaned on my short game heavily. Pars were a good score, and we all had to be patient out there.
“Because my SkyCaddie often shows you information which you simply cannot laser to, I use it in every competitive round of golf” said Coles, a 51-year-old veteran of over 550 Tour events who qualified for the tournament after winning the 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship in May at Moor Park Golf Club in the UK.

Coles topped a remarkably distinguished field containing six Major-winners including Lawrie, Michael Campbell, John Daly, Ian Woosnam, Joe Marie Olazabal and Shaun Micheel, plus ex-Ryder Cup Captains Colin Montgomerie and Paul McGinley, and many former Ryder Cup players and multiple European Tour winners such as Peter Baker, Phillip Price, Thomas Levet, Jarmo Sandelin, Joakim Haeggman, David Gilford, Alex Cejka and Niclas Fasth.
17 of the top 20 and ties in last week’s Staysure PGA Seniors Championship use a SkyCaddie, and in total, 75% of the top 60 finishers used SkyCaddie GPS during the week to help them navigate Trump International Golf Links. Its mountainous sand dunes and deep rough creating challenging blind shots and frequent layups, were all easily plotted using SkyCaddie’s accurate ground-mapped yardages.
