GCSAA Foundation program has raised more than $2.5 million since 2012.
Lawrence, Kan. – Rounds 4 Research presents its 2023 online auction April 24-April 30. Nearly 1,000 rounds of golf (each round includes two or four players) have been donated at courses in 43 states plus Bermuda and Costa Rica. Rounds are added daily, so check back often. To preview rounds and to bid when the auction opens, visit www.rounds4research.com.
Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). It is presented in partnership with The Toro Co. Funds generated from the auction support research-related initiatives of GCSAA and its affiliated chapters. Since launching in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised more than $2.5 million for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. In 2022, the auction raised a record amount of more than $490,000. Funds raised by the event also help support GCSAA’s national research program.
“Rounds 4 Research gives golfers the chance to help fund efforts that help ensure the game’s future and do it while playing the game they love,” said Rhett Evans, chief executive officer of GCSAA. “Last year’s auction set our all-time record, and through the generosity of the facilities and management companies that donate and the golfers who bid, we hope to exceed that this year.”
Some of the high profile facilities that have donated rounds for the auction include Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa, Fla., TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nev., Ohoopee Match Club in Cobbtown, Ga., Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla., Frederica Golf Club in Saint Simons Island, Ga., Sutton Bay in Agar, S.D., and Nanea Golf Club in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Several management companies also have joined the effort to support research, including Invited, Dormie Network, Founders Group International, GreatLIFE KC, Indigo Golf, KemperSports, Marriott Golf, the PGA Tour TPC network of courses and Troon Golf.
