ExecuSearch, Powered by the PGA of America, Conducts Successful Search Supporting Club’s Mission and Growth
FRISCO, Texas — Royal Poinciana Golf Club, a private club located in Naples, Fla., today announced PGA of America Golf Professional Danny Butts as the new Director of Golf. ExecuSearch, powered by the PGA of America, a premium executive placement service for the golf industry, assisted with the search and placement.
Royal Poinciana is home to 36-holes of championship golf and a host of amenities, including plans for a new clubhouse and wellness center in 2027. In his new role, Butts is responsible for leading all golf operations, including tournaments, instruction and player development programming, as well as maintenance, merchandising, member services and budgeting, while managing a team of 40.
Butts returns home to Royal Poinciana Golf Club where he served as the First Assistant Golf Professional from 2001-19. Most recently, he gained valuable experience as the Director of Golf at West Bay Club, a private club in Estero, Fla., where he managed golf operations from 2019-26, strengthening the member experience and elevating the facility to one of the most desirable clubs in southwest Florida.
“One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect authentically with members, guests and staff,” said Butts. “I take great pride in fostering an environment where people feel valued and supported. Royal Poinciana holds a special place in my life and career. The opportunity to return and serve its membership with the experience, perspective and leadership I have gained is profoundly meaningful to me.”
A PGA Member since 2018, Butts is currently a Board Member for the South Florida PGA Section, while serving as President of the Southwest Chapter. Highly regarded by his peers, Butts volunteers on multiple committees at both the Section and Chapter levels. He was honored as both the South Florida PGA Section and the Southwest Chapter Bill Strausbaugh Award recipient in 2025, which recognizes a PGA professional who demonstrates outstanding integrity and character, proven leadership, a strong commitment to mentoring fellow professionals and meaningful involvement in community and charitable activities.
“After a comprehensive search process with the support of PGA ExecuSearch, the Search Committee unanimously concluded that Danny is uniquely qualified to lead Royal Poinciana’s golf operations into the future,” said Bob Minyard, Golf & Search Committee Chairman. “His deep understanding of our club, and the standards of excellence, culture, and member focus that his predecessor Jim Tureskis established, combined with his leadership skills and commitment to excellence, position Daniel for long-term success.”
