THE SATICOY CLUB WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING
The Saticoy Club in Somis, California recently welcomed Missy Carter as the club’s new director of sales and marketing. Carter will be responsible for all aspects of membership sales as well as club branding, marketing and advertising at the award-winning, 97 year-old club.
A resident of nearby Santa Clarita, Calif., Carter has 19-plus years of golf sales and marketing experience. She most recently served as the senior director of membership and marketing at Valencia Country Club in Valencia, Calif. Throughout her career in the golf industry, Carter has experience in event planning, coordination and implementation; community outreach; social media planning and execution; food and beverage operations and management; and tournament sales and operations. In 2017, Carter founded the Ryan Osler Memorial Golf Tournament.
“We’re excited to welcome Missy to The Saticoy Club,” said Mike Van der Goes, general manager, The Saticoy Club. “Missy has an energetic and infectious personality. Her experience and marketing expertise will be true assets to the club and to our membership.”
Carter’s arrival at The Saticoy Club coincides with the club’s new Friends and Family membership promotion in which new members can save on initiation fees and monthly dues, while enjoying all the benefits of membership. The Friends and Family promotion runs through September 15, 2018. More information can be found at www.saticoyfriends.com.
Founded in 1921, The Saticoy Club was the first private club in Ventura County. Nestled in the hills of Somis, the 18-hole course was designed by noted architect William F. Bell and is regarded as one of top golf courses in California by Links Magazine. Over its storied history, the club has hosted USGA Championship Qualifiers as well as Southern California Golf Association Amateur Championships. Over the years, the course has been refined by notable golf course architects Robert Muir Graves, Tom Doak and John Harbottle. The club is currently in the midst of a multi-phase golf course renovation project led by Arnold Palmer Design and Troon’s Senior Vice President of Golf Course Development, Ron Despain. Phase one includes a comprehensive bunker remodel, sweeping tree removal, a corresponding fairway expansion with Santa Ana Bermuda, and to conserve water and maintenance inputs, a reduction in maintained turf is also being implemented in select areas around the course.
The Saticoy Club was purchased by Saticoy Partners, LLC earlier this year. The new ownership group is committed to returning the course and club to the top echelon of private clubs. In addition to on-course changes, plans also call for improvements to be made to dining spaces, locker rooms, the pool area and fitness facilities.
