Scott Parel Wins Fourth PGA Tour Champions Event in Playoff

Peachtree Corners, Ga. – Byron Nelson Sportswear congratulates PGA Tour Champions ambassador  for his playoff victory at the inaugural ClubCorp Classic held this past weekend at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas.

Parel fired a final round 6-under 65, including a birdie on the final hole of regulation, to gain the playoff with Steven Alker and Gene Sauers. The playoff began and ended at the 18th hole when both Alker and Sauers found the penalty area guarding the green of the par-5. Parel avoided the hazard and closed with a victory-clinching par.

“I’m glad to win a playoff — I’m 0-3 in these things,” Parel said. “I was fortunate both the guys didn’t hit the best second shots. I was just trying to get it over here and try to get up and down, which in the end turned out to be the right play.”

The tournament win moved Parel up to the 5th spot on the year-long chase for the Charles Schwab Cup. This is his sixth full-year as an exempt member of the PGA Tour Champions.

Parel wore apparel from the Byron Nelson Collection in competition, including branded shirts, sweaters, outerwear and pants (www.ByronNelsonGolf.com).
