STAMFORD, Conn. – This week on Golf Channel, the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs continue with the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, where the top 50 golfers in the FedExCup Standings will compete for the $20 million purse and a spot in next week’s TOUR Championship.
This week’s PGA TOUR BMW Championship on Golf Channel follows record viewership for last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, which delivered the most-watched iteration of the event in Golf Channel history.
- Four-day coverage on Golf Channel averaged 901k viewers, up 27% vs. 2025;
- Sunday’s coverage averaged 1.3 million viewers, most-watched cable telecast for the event in 25 years;

PGA TOUR – BMW CHAMPIONSHIP
The BMW Championship is the second event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, with the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings after last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship earning a spot in this no-cut, 72-hole event. The event is being played at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis for the third time.
Defending champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines the field coming off an eight-stroke victory over Si Woo Kim at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week. Scheffler won the BMW Championship in 2025 by two strokes over Robert McIntyre.
The top 30 players in the standings following the BMW Championship will advance to compete in the final event of the PGA TOUR’s 2026 regular season, the TOUR Championship. Entering the BMW Championship, six-time PGA TOUR winner Rickie Fowler holds the 30th spot in the FedExCup standings, with other notable names in the top 30 bubble including 2026 TOUR winners Bud Cauley (29), Gary Woodland (31) and J.T. Poston (32).
Golf Channel commentator Smylie Kaufman will host the final “Happy Hour with Smylie presented by Michelob Ultra” of the season during Friday’s Golf Channel coverage of the BMW Championship.
