Clay County Is a Little Bit of Country and a Lot of Golf On September Episode of Traveling Golfer TV Show
Over the years, the Traveling Golfer television show has been a lot of things … to a lot of golfers. Sometimes it provides a virtual golf trip to some of the most exotic destinations – golf destinations that some people can only dream about visiting. Other times it provides a nostalgic return to some of the most familiar and loved golf destinations. And, once in a while, it becomes the most unique discovery experience – uncovering a new and exciting golf destination.
The September episode of the Traveling Golfer is a prime example of the third category. Viewers will discover Clay County – a neighboring and quickly growing community to the west of Jacksonville, Florida.
A few people may know it as the home area of the Van Zandt brothers, the driving forces behind the legendary Country/Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. And an area that is a hotbed of “downhome” southern cooking.
But it now has become a great area for quality, affordable daily fee golf – an area that is easily accessible by car from nearby I-95 or by air from Jacksonville airport. Viewers will discover outstanding courses such as Eagle Landing (Clyde Johnson design), Fleming Island Golf Club (Bobby Weed design), Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club (Mark McCumber design) and Eagle Harbor (Clyde Johnson design).
“The four courses, located in close proximity, make up the absolute perfect golf trip,” explains Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. “They present an enticing amount of variety. Add to the golf all of the charm of Clay County … and you have a real slice of America, golf style.”
The September episode runs throughout the month on the Traveling Golfer network of websites … including The Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air a number of times in the Month of September on “Rivertalk” on HTC-4 in Myrtle Beach. The Traveling Golfer also airs as a scheduled weekly feature show on NBC Sports and NBC Sports + throughout four markets in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NBC Sports airings are 10:30 a.m. Sundays, 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and 11 a.m. Thursdays. NBC Sports + airs the show at 8 p.m. Mondays and Fridays. And, now, the show also airs nationally on the new Fun Roads Network.
As part of every Traveling Golfer show there is the additional feature, “Tech Talk”, hosted by Tour Edge Golf experts, such as President Dave Glod. With years of experience as a club maker, Glod presents an inside look at the research and development of high-quality golf equipment.
Responding to golfers’ never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. The show added an Outstanding Achievement Award in the prestigious International Network of Golf Awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January of 2019. The latest award came on the heels of an unprecedented three straight years as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America
The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 18 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. Alternate shows also air in a two-month rotation. All old shows are archived for continued viewing on the YouTube Network and on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
