‘Share My Passion’ LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Clinics Coming to Las Vegas, Naples, Fla. this Fall
Girls Invited to Submit Open Letters to Annika Telling Her What They Love About Golf for Chance to Attend Invitation-Only Events
The ANNIKA Foundation – golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam’s charitable organization – will host invitation-only “Share My Passion” LPGA*USGA Girls Golf clinics this fall in Las Vegas and Naples, Fla.
In partnership with the Southern Nevada Golf Association, girls between the ages of six and 12 who live in the state are invited to write an open letter to Annika telling her why they love golf, and why other girls should learn how to play. Annika and her team will invite authors of the 40 most-compelling notes to attend a clinic headlined by the 10-time major champion and winner of 72 LPGA events. The support of Dan and Sallie Dutton and Joel and Kim Laub is integral to making the event possible. It will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, Annika and team will host a second “Share My Passion” day at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla. Girls between the ages of eight and 13 residing in the United States are invited to submit letters for a chance to attend the clinic and receive a behind-the-scenes look at tournament preparation for the LPGA’s season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. Additional support for this event is being offered byIBERIABANK and Escalante Golf.
“I can’t wait to read the letters we receive for this fall’s events,” says Annika, who in 2001 became the only woman to date to break 60 in an LPGA tournament. “I’m continually amazed by the applications we receive; the love these young girls have for the game is truly inspiring and reminds me of how I felt about it at their age.”
Submissions for both clinics can be made here: https://www.annikafoundation.org/share-my-passion-clinic.
In 2019, Dick’s Sporting Goods will become a sponsor of the “Share My Passion” series, as part of the company’s Sports Matter initiative. Its involvement will be key to expanding the number of “Share My Passion” around the country.

About the ANNIKA Foundation
Annika created the ANNIKA Foundation (www.annikafoundation.org) to provide opportunities in women’s golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition. The Foundation has partnered with key organizations to promote healthy, active lifestyles for children, including SPARK, Florida Hospital for Children in support of its Healthy 100 Kidsinitiative and The First Tee in development of the Nine Healthy Habits curriculum for children, and an endowment of the AJGA’s ACE Grant.
It annually conducts six major golf events for aspiring junior girls: the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.; ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills in China; ANNIKA Invitational Europe and ANNIKA Cup in Sweden; the ANNIKA Invitational Latin America in Argentina and the ANNIKA Invitational Australasia in New Zealand. Moreover, with the support of 3M, the Haskins Commission and Golfweek, the Foundation created the ANNIKA Award presented by 3M, which is given annually to the best collegiate female golfer. Since 2014, the Foundation has also annually hosted the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, a college tournament featuring 12 of the top Division I schools. Each year, the Foundation also conducts several “Share My Passion” grass roots clinics designed to introduce kids to the game.
