Shark Experience Launches on Golf Car Fleets of Marquee Courses Across the Country
The Breakers, Bethpage, Bobby Jones and The Phoenician Among Those Adopting the New Technology Platform for Members and Guests
West Palm Beach, Fla. (May 7, 2019) – Shark Experience today announced that it has installed its premium media platform on a number of marquee courses across the country including The Breakers Ocean Course, Bethpage State Park Golf Courses, Bobby Jones Golf Course and The Phoenician.
Leveraging Verizon’s leading 4G LTE network technology, Shark Experience includes a high-definition touchscreen display and built-in speakers with Bluetooth connectivity – all exclusive to Club Car golf cars. Available as an enhancement to one’s round, all four courses are providing the full-suite of Shark Experience offerings including PGA TOUR Live coverage, streaming music, news and sports via TuneIn, dynamic yardage information, hole flyovers, Greg Norman golf tips and more – at no cost to its members and guests.
“Shark Experience is a product that the industry needs. We are absolutely in support of it,” said Brian Conley, Director of Golf at Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta, GA. “Bobby Jones is a revolutionary, reversible golf course design. It’s an idea very far ahead of its time and as we go forward, we see Shark Experience being integral to the experience.”
“I’ve been saying for a while, that this is where golf needs to go,” said Tim Collins, Director of Golf at The Breakers. “Golf shouldn’t be the hardest sport to play in the world. Let’s make it easy. Let’s have some fun, let’s turn the music on and have a blast.”
Three of the four courses — Bobby Jones, The Breakers and The Phoenician — underwent full-scale renovations in 2018 and recently reopened with the Shark Experience platform as a new amenity for their guests.
“With new players every day who are seeing our courses for the first time, we chose Shark Experience and its GPS yardages, hole flyovers, golf tips from Greg Norman and all the game enhancement features to help our customers feel more comfortable and confident on our course,” said Kelley Brooke, Director of Golf at Bethpage State Park. “We also think it will help keep up pace of play.”
Bethpage is one of many courses in the New York Metropolitan area adopting Shark Experience for the 2019 golf season, now in full swing.
“When iconic courses such as these are incorporating Shark Experience into their offering, you know you are doing something right,” said Greg Norman. “I am honored to have our brand aligned with theirs and look forward to seeing more courses follow in their path and move the game forward.”
Shark Experience launched in January 2018 and continues to roll out on courses across the US.
